Arlington Life Shelter
The Arlington Life Shelter provides short-term shelter and support services that help our neighbors who are homeless integrate into society and become contributors to a thriving community.

The Arlington Life Shelter is the only shelter in the DFW area with a work requirement for residents receiving more than emergency shelter. In 2011, the shelter served 704 homeless men, women and children with an average length of stay of 9 weeks. Remarkably, 80% of program participants are currently employed in full-time positions.

2012, the Joe Barton Family Foundation pledged $36,000 in matching funds to renovate Shelter’s current facility. The renovations in the check-in and food service areas, including the addition of a family lounge, commercial grade appliances and round dining room tables provide a welcoming environment for all of the clients, including young families who have never been to a shelter.

“With this partnership, we will encourage the homeless today that there is hope for a better life tomorrow.” –Congressman Joe Barton, Honorary Chairman
